Chesapeake Coalition of Police # 5020
'we work for those who take the risks"
There are roughly 900,000 Police Officers in the US who create a fine blue line
between peace and chaos for hundreds of millions of US citizens.

Approximately 5.2 million violent crimes are committed every year.

More than 18,200 Officers have been killed in the line of duty, about one Officer
every 53 hours.

Another 250 Officers were shot but saved by ballistics (bullet proof) vests.

56,000 Police Officers are criminally assaulted each year.

16,000 of these Officers require hospitalization each year.

300 Police Officers commit suicide each year as a direct result of the job.
It's not a job for everyone, but everyone who wears the blue and places
the badge upon their chest are committed to serve and protect their community
and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice when called.
These men and women place their lives on the line every
day to protect your life and property.

The Chesapeake Coalition of                                 Police, Local 5020, was founded
in 1998. We are a non profit                                  organization comprised of sworn
Chesapeake Police Officers                                  and support personnel. We are
here to provide unity and                                    support in key areas, and to
improve the lives and working                 conditions of our members.  CCOP,
through member dues and contributions, not only provide our members with legal
representation, but we also send our members to schools and seminars they would
not otherwise be able to attend. We know the better trained and informed our
officers are, the better they are able to serve the community.

CCOP also strives to give back to our Chesapeake community that is so very
supportive of those who take the risks to make this one of the safest cities in the
country. We have supported many organizations that help others, including the
Make A Wish Foundation, The Union Mission, local youth sports such as PAL and
providing holiday meals and ensuring local families in need have a
Merry Christmas with the CCOP Holiday Campaign.
